Pfc. Lance Kolling, his mother Connie, father Mike and his sister Lexy hug after his return from Afghanistan at the Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport south of Dickinson on Monday. Kolling is on a two-week leave and will return to Afghanistan on Veteran's Day.

Friends, family and well-wishers filled the Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport south of Dickinson as Kolling’s plane flew in.

Members of the North Dakota Patriot Guard were on hand with flags to welcome Kolling home, a practice the group strongly believes in, said the group’s southwestern North Dakota Ride Capt. Stewart Stenberg.
